The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) provides funding for the development, implementation and demonstration of the GUW+ system.

The industrial partners can resort to existing system technology for the transmission and distribution of energy. This technology will be adapted as required throughout the project. The consortium is pioneering the integration of a stationary battery storage that will be constructed as a second-use application for aged batteries from the electric bus operation.

The accompanying research includes

  • the development of a software toolkit for the site-specific assessment of potential application locations for GUW+,
  • preliminary measurements for the optimization of the control algorithm as well as
  • the functionality test of the demonstrator.

The GUW+ project has received funding from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) within the funding program Electric Mobility. The program is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Project Management Jülich (PtJ).
